A marine biologist named Brent Hughs set out to discover why the Eelgrass beds in the Elkhorn Slough were thriving at a time when the estuary wasn't as healthy as it is today. This wonderful children's book by Patricia Newman chronicles his research and the surprising finding that (spoiler alert!) Sea Otters are responsible for the health of our Eelgrass!
